A big thanks to Uschi Gibson for hosting our September
rendezvous. We all had a great time!
Our October meeting will be a squabble. Our commander
will be out of town, so we won't be conducting much
business. Instead, we will just get together and socialize,
which is always fun. We plan to go back to the Black
Angus. We'll meet on Thursday, October 12, starting
at 1830. We'll be in the North Forty Room, the same
room we had last time we met at the Black Angus.
Our October rendezvous will be our annual cruise
on the Sea Dragon pirate ship. The rendezvous will
be Saturday, October 21. Plan to meet at the dock
at 1530. The ship will depart promptly at 1600-don't
be late. As before, plan to bring food to share. Beverages
can be purchased on the ship. The price will be $17
per person. Please give Rick or Anji Smitherman a
call if you plan to attend, so we can give a head
count to the folks who run the pirate ship. I look
forward to seeing you there. The cruise is always
a good time.

The September meeting of the St. Andrew Bay Power Squadron
was held on September 14, 2006 in the Baldwin Plaza
Health Plex meeting room.

Treasurers Report was read and accepted.
Discussed the need for more or better advertising
for classes. Suggestions
were: TV, flyers, newspaper, Internet (no cost and
very effective). Need
advanced courses for members, starting with Seamanship.
Staci volunteered
to track interest in advanced courses through her
website.
Discussed how to communicate better with everyone.
Motion was made to
create a "Phone Committee" who will call
everyone as a reminder each monthof the rendezvous
and meeting. Volunteers for the committee were Anji
(in
absensia), Joanie, Scarlotte and Darlene. They determined
that they will
need an updated Roster to accomplish their task.
Discussed member input to Rendezvous schedule. Some
suggestions for next
year were: Wakulla Springs, Falling Waters State Park,
Marianna Caverns,
Eden State Park, Staci's home, 4th of July fireworks,
The Betsy Ann, The
Pirate Ship, a Halloween Costume Party at a private
house.
Mention was made of establishing a PR Officer (no
action at this time)
Don't forget about the Pirate Ship Rendezvous next
month, and be sure to be
thinking about next year's bridge elections.
Jim Pappas was going to give a talk, but he kind
of got pushed aside with
all the talking. Hopefully he will be willing to try
again.
